I am an entrepreneur, finance fanatic, restaurateur, investor…
…and a very, very lazy person. Please give me something to do (sarcasm).
In 2002 – when the historic refinance boom was taking place – I left my corporate banking career with Wells Fargo to join Allstate Capital, a successful home loans start-up in the city of Orange, California. I ran the company’s sales operations until 2005, when the real estate winds of change told me it was time to leave the industry before the inevitable “mortgage meltdown” happened.
An insatiable appetite for building businesses, calculated risks, and challenge all led me to subsequently step in to a space to which I had no prior knowledge or experience. That same year, myself and a few partners started the famous Cajun Corner restaurant in Westminster, California. It was a profitable venture right out the gate and continued to be for the next two years under my management.
To this day I still doesn’t know how to cook. That’s pretty embarrassing.
In 2006 – by the second year of business, I was recruited by Fransmart – the largest franchise development company in the world – to help grow their investment portfolio of 13 emerging restaurant chains. Their reputation and the exciting opportunity to advise early-stage companies ready to become big companies, compelled me to sell my shares in The Cajun Corner and exit the partnership in late 2008.
As the firm’s senior director, I lead franchise growth strategy and have been instrumental in Fransmart’s development of over 100 restaurants globally.
I currently invest in the regular equity markets as well as the “not your average” vehicles. I am Chairman of Point B Capital Corporation – a globally diversified company with subsidiaries in franchising, business advisory, private investment, and financial planning services.
I continue to vet and raise capital for investment opportunities with strong business models and untapped territory.
When not being lazy – which obviously takes up most of my time – I enjoy my new-found relationship with God, singing, the outdoors, traveling, and writing and reading about unconventional strategies for business, sales and marketing, investing, health, and personal development.
